Kaizen is a Japanese word meaning “upgrade and improvement”; in business, it is the name of a group of activities that continuously upgrade all processes, and to do this, all members of an organization from CEO to Workers are involved in the production line. Kaizen is also used in processes (such as Purchase and logistics) that go beyond organizational processes and fall into the category of supply chain processes.

Kaizen’s goal in upgrading standard processes and programs is to eliminate process waste (also known as Muda). Kaizen was first used in Japanese businesses and organizations after World War II. Part of it is inspired by American businesses and organizations and teachers of the philosophy of “quality management” and a large part of it is inspired by “The Toyota Way”. Since then, Kaizen has spread to all parts of the world and is even used in non-work environments.

Now, you too can rely on our experienced and professional colleagues at Fergas International to use this philosophy and culture to improve internal processes of your organization.
